PONS Method
The PONS Method: Collective Individualization Explained
Collective Individualization adapts the system to the player without breaking the coherence of the collective architecture.

Collective Individualization is one of the structural principles of the PONS Method.
The idea is simple to state and demanding to apply: the player is individual, but football performance is relational. Therefore, individual development should adapt to the player without detaching the player from the team’s architecture.
The practical consequence is important. An individual task should not begin with a tool or a drill. It should begin with the Game Model, the player’s position, the player’s functions and the relationships that define the action. Only after that should the staff decide which technical, physical or cognitive constraints are useful.
This changes the role of rebounder panels. A panel is not valuable because it returns the ball. Its value appears when it represents a football relationship: a teammate, a passing lane, a wall pass, a support angle, a body-orientation reference or a progression sequence. In that sense, equipment becomes part of the tactical architecture rather than an isolated training accessory.
The sequence can be expressed as: Game Model → Position → Functions → Relationships → Decision → Technical Execution. The individual is placed inside the collective logic at every step.
This principle also helps integrate departments. Analysis can identify the problem. Coaching can define the intended solution. Physical preparation can preserve the movement demand. Individual development can repeat the relevant relationship. The methodology provides the common language that connects those interventions.
The goal is not to make every player train the same way. The goal is to create a system flexible enough to adapt to different players without losing structural coherence.
That is the essence of Collective Individualization: individual specificity without collective disorder.
